It has been 2 months since I last posted so I guess it is about time that I do something about it. There hasn't been too much going on since then. The most excitement we have had is being sick. Poor little Ethan has had a cold, ear infections, RSV and bronchiolitis all in the past month. We really are glad that he is finally doing well. The only problem is that he got me, Bob and my mom all sick. My poor mom was the only one who got it as bad as Ethan did. We felt bad that she got it but she says that she would do it all over again.
Ethan is 10 months old today. We can hardly believe that he will be one soon. We also wonder what we ever did for entertainment before he came along. It is so fun to watch him learn to do new things. This past month he has learned how to walk along the furniture, eat more and more big people food, and also how to say no shaking his head back and forth fully knowing what it means. I had no idea that he would be so aware of his world so young and be able to comprehend what we are saying so well. About a week ago we had to take Ethan back to the doctor for the second time that week because his bronchiolitis had gotten worse. He was wheezing faster and faster, breathing worse and becoming more and more lethargic. I was ready to go to work when I realized this and waited to see what my mom thought when she saw him. I wasn't sure if I was being overprotective or not and she assured me I was not. Anyway, we took him in and they gave him breathing treatments and suctioned the mucus out of his nose. The doctor and I were hoping that this would all do the trick but it was not showing any big improvement. The funny thing is that his oxygen level was right where it should be normally. But because nothing was helping Dr. Havlik said he fully expected to see Ethan end up in the hospital that weekend. Right on cue Ethan shook his head no,no, no!!!
Then the doctor said that Ethan would have to be suctioned out several times while in the hospital. Once again Ethan promptly shook his head no,no,no!!! He does this accurately when having conversations with him or while he is listening to one. It is so cute!!! It was amazing that he is able to do this even when he is a sick little boy. Long story short, we brought him home and Bob and my Dad gave him a blessing. That is the one thing that seemed to do the most good. He has improved everyday since then. Although we would like to take back time to when he was a little bit smaller and a little more cuddly we love watching him grow and seeing all the new things he has learned. We also love seeing his little personality come out more and more. I am just going to post a picture or two to see what he looks like now.
